Like having your paper documents shredded, any media that contains confidential information should be securely destroyed using the proper method. For example, just deleting files from a computer hard drive does not necessarily erase the data, it just removes the file name from the directory, leaving the data retrievable. And, do you know that some recycling organizations will re-sell the computer you just brought to recycle? Do you know who has your information after it’s recycled or what they are doing with it?
Hard drives from your computer contain a lot personal information that thieves would love to get their hands on. Credit card and social security numbers, addresses and bank accounts are all vulnerable information. At Fox Cities Records Services, you can actually drop your hard drive in our shredder and watch it shred to pieces.
Once the hard drive is shredded at Fox Cities Records Services, no data will ever be able to be reconstructed or retrieved. FCRS then recycles the shredded bits responsibly.
Each hard drive received will have the serial number scanned to ensure proof of destruction and a certificate of destruction will be provided.
